Turkey’s “Mosaic of Histories” will come to life through musical and dance performances, art exhibits, and children’s activities, spanning the traditional to the contemporary. Engaging seminars and workshops will ignite your curiosity while you enjoy authentic Turkish food and live cooking demonstrations. Turkfest Kickoff Event:
Reception for “Turkey’s Jews Revisited” Photography Exhibit by Laurence Salzmann, October 15th
TACAWA, in cooperation with the University of Washington Stroum Jewish Studies Program’s Sephardic Studies Initiative, invites you to the Turkfest kickoff event: an opening reception for ”Turkey’s Jews Revisited: 1984-2012,” a photography exhibit of Turkey’s Sephardic Jewish community by Laurence Salzmann.
The exhibit will be on display at UW Hillel from October 15th through November 8th.
Mr. Salzmann will also speak at Turkfest 2013: Mosaic of Histories, on Sunday, October 20th at the Seattle Center at approximately 2 pm. A selection of the photographs on display at Hillel will be displayed at Turkfest.
